CLASS INFORMATION
Using an existing book you will deconstruct the book and reconstruct using mat board as the pages. The spine will be reinforced with binders tape, and new end papers will be added. The pages will be constructed of mat board and added to the book using a simple stitching method and glue.
The pages will then be decorated with papers, images and embellishments. The finished book can become a journal, scrapbook or a one of a kind gift. The book will be provided by the instructor.
Student supplies: awl, bone folder, scissors, pencil, cutting matt, heat gun, collage papers, collage images and embellishments.
Journaling with Watercolor and Ink **NEW**
Explore journaling possibilities using a variety of materials. Explore the use of watercolor paints, watercolor crayons and watercolor pencils combined with inks. Add collage papers and images to create full-page layouts that will add new dimension to your journal pages. You will also create a journal using watercolor paper and a coil binding machine.
Student supplies: scissors, pencil, collage materials, heat gun.
Using transparency film, you will learn to add depth and sophistication to your altered books. There will be a discussion on the types of film and variety of ways to print and stamp on them. You will learn to attach these printed films to your altered book to get it that instant WOW factor. If you are looking for a way to kick your altered books up a notch this is the class for you.
Student supplies: medium sized hard back book ( you can bring a book you have been working on or a new one).
In this class you will explore in depth the process of creating full page layouts in altered books. Using acrylic glazes, papers, images and rubberstamping with paint. The use stencils and transparencies will add those finishing touches to your pages. You will also add small drawers to your book to hold special items you wish to include in your book. This workshop is guaranteed to add sophistication to any altered book.
Student Supplies: medium sized hard back book at least 1 inch thick, pencil, ruler, scissors, heat gun, cutting mat, collage images and collage papers.
Come learn one of the hottest new additions to the world of crafts. This class will give you the basic techniques you need to get started. You will be gluing, painting, collaging and rubberstamping, cutting and tearing. You will learn several ways to fold pages, make pockets, windows, doors and even add a pop up page.
